Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate offers classes for all ages and skill levels
Each session includes 8 lessons, skate rental if needed and 8 free admissions to public sessions to use during your program to practice what you learned in class. The 8 free public session passes will expire 2 weeks after the last class date. We cannot extend the free passes beyond that date.
$135 per 8 week session, includes yearly Learn To Skate USA membership
Class times:
Snowplow Sam through Basic 3: 5:15pm -5:55pm
Basic 4-8, Adults, Free Skate 1-6: 6:00pm-6:40pm

Class Levels
Snowplow Sam
Designed for skaters 6 and under to develop preliminary coordination and strength to move around the ice. The introductory classes are divided into 4 progressive levels for kids with no prior skating experience to build confidence in skating and themselves.
Free Skate
Each Free Skate level is divided into 3 sections: skating skills, spins and jumps. The levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation. At this point the skater can choose to pursue a recreational or competitive approach to the sport of figure skating.
Basic Skills
The first stage of skills forms a strong foundation for skaters to explore the world of skating. All will progress at their own pace working toward mastering each skill.
Adult
It’s never too late to start learning! Oak Park Ice Rink offers adult skating classes as well! From beginners to advanced, we can teach you!
2023 OAK PARK ICE RINK SUMMER SKATE CAMP
$200 Per Week, or $300 for BOTH WEEKS.
June 5-9, June 12-16
Ages 6 and up, All Level Skaters Welcome (Will Split Group Basic Level/ Advanced Level.
Basic Level—All Snowplow, Basic 1-2-3, . Emphasis on Learning Basic Skating Skill for Figure Skating.
Advanced Level—All Basic 4-8 Freeskate 1-6, Adult. Emphasis on Learning Figure Skating Skills
Adaptive and Sleds are available also. Basic Hockey also welcome.
